Antique Gold Filled Saphiret Rhinestone Pin Brooch - Stylized Flower Design. Dating anywhere from the late 1880s to early 1900s, may I offer this rose gold filled or rolled gold costume pin in the shape of a stylized flower. Actually, a pansy comes to mind but it may be something else. The pin is set with glass rhinestones of red, white and blue - the blue being represented by the most coveted of glass gems - saphiret. The pin measures 1-1/4" wide x 1".
Weight is 7.8 grams. Simple c-catch closure to hold the silver (possibly sterling) pinstem in place.A lovely piece with a really vintage parina. No chips/cracks to any of the stones that I can spot - they are all old cuts so it's hard to say if anything is amiss. Overall, in terms of Victorian costume jewelry, this piece is a PIP!
