An exceptional solid 18K yellow gold hand made high Victorian Swiss Miniature landscape pin depicting the Chateau de Chillon. Inside a highly ornate hand made solid 18K yellow gold frame is set a miniature of exceptional beauty and detail which has been painted with fine enamels. To do this involves countless firings as each new layer of enamel is applied. It is almost impossible to see the brushstrokes in the miniature as it is so fine. This pin weighs 11.73 grams. It measures 1 11/16" long and is 1 1/2" wide (43mm x 38mm). This astonishing little work of art is in exceptional condition for it's 165+ years of age.
