Antique c1900 Sword, Crescent MOON & STAR Ruby & Pearl BROOCH PIN in 9K Gold
Natural Chrome Diopside Rondelle Bead Graduated Necklace, 18K Gold Clasp. Antique Sword, Crescent Moon & Star Gemstone Brooch. A lovely example of antique celestial jewellery dating back to late Victorian- early Edwardian era, circa 1900! In Victorian times the crescent moon was often associated with female empowerment, whilst the stars often represented guidance, and the sword often symbolized protection & honor. The beautifully crafted brooch is encrusted with 19 imitation seed pearls. Handle of sword is beautifully shaped in the medieval-style. Opposite end finishes with a single pearl set in box setting, pin from behind representing the sword's point.
Design may have been altered at some point of it's life! Three twinkling pink stars are embellished with ruby doublets and trace chain drapes below crescent. The brooch is not stamped, an acid-test indicates 9k yellow gold.
Copper pin and'C' connection are on the reverse. A handsome sword brooch with a feminine touch... One for the distinct lady! Late Victorian- early Edwardian era, circa 1900.
Imitation pearls and ruby doublets. The overall condition of the antique brooch is very good.
Besides normal surface wear there is no apparent damage to the gems or gold.
